 Let's face it. Creating candy apples isn't rocket science. However, giving yous the idea is what I'm here for. 🙂

Items Needed:

• Apples {we used pocket-sized apples, for our footling kiddos, but huge apples can be FUN}

• Caramel candies

• Baking Candies, Sprinkles, Candy

• Water for melting caramel

• Wooden skewers or lollipop sticks

• Wax paper

• Photographic camera, to capture the memories. 😉

Crazy me, I bought a HUGE bag of apples and a couple of bags of caramel candies, for the candy decorating event. If we were making a ton to hand out to neighbors, or family unit/friends… this would have been perfect. But if you're just making a few for your household, an apple a person volition practice. 🙂

Next, pull out your baking supplies that you lot take on hand. If you've been on my pantry tour, you'll see I try to continue it all together in a handbasket, so I was able to simply pull information technology all out, and and then we let the kids get to town. We also dug in to our e'er so "overflowed," candy drawer, and permit them use candies to decorate.

We have a mighty collection of sprinkles, candy eyes, mini marshmallows, baking candies, etc., and so nosotros were able to empty out the "shut to expired," goodies.

Next, have your kiddos help you unwrap the candies. This is part of the entertainment. 🙂

Melt your caramel candies according to the directions on the back of the purse. Mine said to add a little bit of water to the unwrapped candies, and microwave, stopping every 30 seconds to stir until desired melted consistency.

While you're melting the caramels, stick a wooden skewer {or lollipop stick} in to each apple.

Have your kiddo dip their apple tree in to the caramel, letting them agree it above the bowl, allowing the excess caramel to drip off.

Identify the caramel covered apple, on to a piece of waxed paper, and let the kids get to boondocks with decorating… non waiting too long, or the caramel will harden and dry.

But be prepared… it's difficult to proceed your kiddos from eating the candies. 🙂

Mommy and Daddy got in on the action likewise, and we created our very own candy apples:
